Cured and Salted Fish
Despite salting food being one of the oldest methods of preserving food, modern science has proved salted foods, especially Chinese-style salted fish, has links to cancer. The food category is considered a Group 1 carcinogenic by the WHO, making it a must-avoid food.
Nitrites and nitrates, two by-products of curing and salting fish, are the suspects behind the food category’s carcinogenic properties. Smoked-cured food might be equally dangerous. Eat fresh fish and seafood instead and prevent unnecessary health risks.
