Pizza is an Italian food that so many people all over the world absolutely love. Therefore, pizzas from Italy are quite unique and you will not see an Italian style pizza with pepperoni on it even though it has other meats that have some similarities and yet some major differences to it. Does that mean you will not find pizzas that have pepperoni in Italy? No, you still will be able to, that is if it is an American style pizza and they do exist in Italy.
Therefore, in other words, Italians are not the ones who began putting pepperoni on pizza. That was all from America. In fact, when recent studies have been conducted for Americans that love eating pizza, the majority said that they love meat on their pizza which included pepperoni and mushrooms. And it was believed that pepperoni became the American style pizza because it was a quick way to add a fix to a pizza in a pizzeria or at a restaurant that had pizza on its menus. In addition to that, it is fitting for the American palate.
