Dimethylpolysiloxane? What is that? That is a component that you find in breast implants made of silicone and there are trace amounts of it in fried chicken items at fast-food restaurants. That is right. Your favorite KFC chicken or chicken McNuggets from McDonald’s contain small amounts of this component. This component is found in household necessities such as in calling, polishes, as well as mold expulsion agents. But there are larger amounts of dimethylpolysiloxane than you would find in your favorite fried chicken.
But why would fast-food restaurants use dimethylpolysiloxane in the first place? It is a food preservative and an anti-foaming agent.
