Shrimp is Covered in Shrimp Poop
If you buy ‘clean’ shrimp, the one that has had its legs, shell and head removed, then you’re in for a surprise. No machine can currently clean the shellfish, so it’s all done by hand, and it’s messy work. All the poop in the shrimp and the dirt that comes with it gets everywhere, especially in the meat you eat. Of course, the shrimp is briefly washed in dirty water and then frozen.
