Chicken Wings
Chicken wings are popular today, they’re the quintessential snack, especially when served with your favorite hot sauces and cheesy dips.
Wings might not be all that expensive, but there was a time when they were basically free. Discarded as a lesser part of chicken, wings were only used to flavor broths and soups, and never grilled or baked to eat independently.
The Anchor Bar in Buffalo, New York, was the first establishment to popularize hot fried wings in 1964, and the rest is history. Today, the average American will eat 18,000 chicken wings in their lifetime. That’s 290 every year.
