If Onions Could Talk, Here’s What They Would Tell You

Not All Onions Look the Same

There are around 27 types of onions around the world. The most popular is the yellow onion, but others are quite popular as well, including the Pearl onions, Bermuda onions, Egyptian onions and Green onions. Then you have shallots and scallions, too.

By the way, China is the largest onion producer with around 20,507,759 metric tons of onions per year, followed by India with 13,372,100 and America with 3,320,870.

How’s that for Onion Knowledge?

If onions could talk, we would appreciate them even more. The versatile and tasty veggie is used in every corner of the earth. How is it that not everyone loves onions? The smelly bulb might have its downsides, but it’s definitely one of the most traded and used veggies around.

What if all our food could talk? We’d appreciate it even more because food is never only food, it’s history, tradition and part of our culture. Onions are too, so show them some love!
