Catfish
Catfish is another bottom feeder that ends up eating the worst of what we throw out into the sea. When farmed, they’re recklessly fed with antibiotics and often grow in poor farming conditions.
Wild Chilean Sea Bass
Regulations regarding the Chilean sea bass are not very strict, which has caused overfishing and indiscriminate practices. The high demand for the fish fuels these corrupt practices and has taken a toll on the sea bass population. What’s worse, the fish has high mercury, making it a health threat that is best avoided.
Eel
Eel is delicious, particularly for its large amounts of fat, the primary flavor carrier. The problem with fatty fish is that they absorb more toxins than other fish, so eel has lots of mercury. Besides, the poor creature is often farmed in unsanitary conditions.
